My first Internship!
As a part of my curriculum I opted for an online Internship program offered by NavpadInfotech Company located in Vadodara. The internship program was 5 weeks long which started with an introduction to Visual studio which is the platform I have used to develop my project. The tools, technology and the requirements were discussed in brief by my project manager to create a proper environment for practicing my work. I was being guided by a knowledgeable project manager to complete my project. The project has been created by group of six students, working individually on the assigned tasks.
The program helped me gain tons of knowledge regarding databases, website attacks, authorization and authentication, MIT licence, API, master page and dedicated servers in the field of technology. Brief introduction to Microsoft PowerBI was shared in a seminar which is used to create a dashboard.
Here, in this project we have created a dashboard for the website along with the development of the website. The project was mainly divided into 3 parts: 1)Front-end(GUI) 2)Back-end(server side) 3)Connectivity(database and authorizations).
About The Project —
A small store selling most fashionable outfits requires a proper medium of exposure for it’s trading. E-commerce business often leads to good marketing and profitable income. In case when you want to excel your business in the near future then you will definitely need such platform where you can embed your payments, make online sells, add or delete things by your own.
In order to help a fashion designer excel in her field we made this project which is based on website development and dashboard designing.
Data Analysis
To develop a dashboard for a website, collection of data play an very important role. Gathering of data from different source and putting it together is a major task. In order to make your dashboard look efficient analysis of data is quite important.
There are various tools we can use to analyze the data. Here I have used Microsoft Excel for the Data analysis. This is one of the major part I have worked on.
Dashboards
It can be frustrating when you don’t have information at your fingertips. A dashboard summarizes these events with easy-to-understand and real-time data visuals.
The whole point of the web-based dashboard is that it lets you visualize the Key Performance Indicators(KPI) and other strategic data for your organization at a glance.
For a boutique seller, maintaining the records of fabrics used, the cost optimization of the products and materials,products available to sell and various other factors plays important role. So she always make a regular check to it.
Hence, the function of a dashboard is to provide real-time results by aggregating and extracting value from all the data you collect, otherwise known as your key performance indicators (KPIs). It simplifies your data into more manageable chunks of visual information that allows you to see what you are doing right and where you need to improve.
Why ASP.NET?
ASP.NET is a web development platform, which provides a programming model, a comprehensive software infrastructure and various services required to build up robust web applications for PC, as well as mobile devices.
It is also used to produce interactive, data-driven web applications over the internet. It consists of a large number of controls such as text boxes, buttons, and labels for assembling, configuring, and manipulating code to create HTML pages.
Working on Visual studio using ASP.NET made us easy to create and develop the website along with data base management.
Database
A database is an organized collection of data, so that it can be easily accessed and managed. You can organize data into tables, rows, columns, and index it to make it easier to find relevant information. Database handlers create a database in such a way that only one set of software program provides access of data to all the users. The main purpose of the database is to operate a large amount of information by storing, retrieving, and managing data.
